Deepest Sympathy to the WALSH and GENTLES families and their connections in Jamaica, Ireland and globally. The GENTLES twins, Barbara and Pat, were very kind to me as senior girls when I entered St. Hilda’s Diocesan High School in Brown’s Town, St. Ann, as a 9-year-old. We shared cousins and thus they treated me as their cousin, thus protecting me from a lot of the “ragging” that the prep. formers and the first formers got during their first month of High School. Barbara was also my Brownie Leader under the Captaincy of Mrs. Una (Jeffrey-Smith) WILSON, and later my Girl Guide Captain. Rest in Peace, Barbara. May the Lord grant the family strength to deal with this tremendous loss, esp. coming so close to the passing of Paul.

So sorry for your loss

I worked with Barbara for over 7 years at CRT…she taught me bookkeeping….Had a lot of fun travel with her and the gang at CRT and it weren’t for her I would not have the many circles of friends that I had met there and still keep in contact with.

May she RIP and thoughts and prayers to all the family…xoxoxo

Barbara truly was a great Dame Templar of the St James Priory of the Knights Templar.
She volunteered her time and her home to get the Templars off to a great start in St James.
And she was a loving and compassionate woman who I delighted in knowing.
My thoughts and prayers are with John.
For Barbara, I am sure the gates of heaven were thrown wide.

Barbara will be truly missed by so many. She loved her family and put them above everything else. She was a free spirit, knowing what she wanted, determently worked towards her goal and succeeded. She was a role model for women. She was a very physically active person from sports at school, to scouting, running, swimming, sailing, etc. One or her passions was travelling, here also she succeeded in seeing most of the world. She was always a good and interested listener and liked hearing about other people’s travel adventures. Hoping there is a whole new universe out there for you to explore. Save journey, Barbara.

Barbara was a very special sister in law. She was always there for us as a family and was instrumental in supporting us with our move to Canada. She encouraged each one of us in our various endeavours, had a great sense of humour and was an entrepreneur in the travel business. RIP Barbara. You will be missed.
