Born: Jan 09, 1930
Died: Apr 22, 2017

Gail Louise Skelly (nee Osborne)
January 9, 1930 – April 22, 2017
With great love and sadness, we announce the passing of our mother Gail on Saturday at Grand River Hospital, K-W Health Centre, from cancer and a complicating stroke.  Predeceased by her husband Bill.
She lived her life with grace, intelligence, joy and humor and taught her children to do the same.  She will be greatly missed and forever loved by children Barb McCarley (Steve), Jan Kauk (Richard), Doug Skelly (Denise) and granddaughter Emma along with grand-dog Roxy.
Mom enjoyed family, travel, all those precious times at the cottage, years of fun with many great friends at Morningside Village and elsewhere, the Blue Jays, a good casino, her cats over the years, a good book, Dancing with the Stars, a good party and so much more.
Her diagnosis of lung cancer almost 2 1/2 years ago didn’t stop her, and she completed her bucket list including a cross country train trip, before the illness started to slow her down.  She made the most of her time until the end.
She’ll be missed by nieces and nephews, extended family and many great friends.
Thanks to all who helped care for Mom in the last couple of years, and very special thanks to Dr. Robert Chernish and his assistant Angel for their compassion and support.  Thanks also to the CCAC and especially nurse Laura.
A life well-lived is something we all wish for, and Mom achieved that in spades.  We’ll miss you, Mom.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial visitation will take place at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 6 – 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 1 – 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations to the K-W Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.

Gail was a very special person in my life, our walks to the mal, bridge, and of course our famous sleepovers. She will always remain very special in my memories.
She did love her family and I know you will all miss her but remember she will always be with you. My deepest sympathy to all of you.
