Aunt Martha, Mark, Luke, Marylou and families
You are very much in our thoughts at this time. Even though this may have been expected, we know that the empty space left by Uncle Gerald’s passing is very large and very real. While we will not be able to be with you in person on Thursday, please know that we will be with you in spirit. We will always remember Gerald’s calm, concerned, reassuring voice and demeanour.

Dear Martha and Family:
My deepest sympathies on the loss of Gerald.
We had good times of chatting together, when we would cross each others path at the thrift store.
Be comforted in knowing that he is pain free and is with his Saviour.

Dear Aunt Martha, Cousins Mark/Joyce, Luke/Delores, Marylou/Dwayne

Heartfelt condolences as you say farewell to Gerald.

This is a tough and emotional time: to say goodbye to a life partner, wonderful father, grandfather, friend…

You guys hang onto each other tightly and savour the richness of a life well lived and the eternalness of the life cycle.

I’ll always remember Uncle Gerald as someone who took an interest in others and was always willing to have a conversation about matters of the day, events from yesterday and hopes for tomorrow.

Deepest condolences, much love
Dennis and Lovetta Helmuth

Condolence from Clare and Marie Jantzi sent on January 29, 2019

Our prayers are with your family at this sad time. Gerald had a long, successful career as a pastor, and enriched the lives of the many persons within his congregations, and others as well. It is comforting to know that his suffering has ended, and that he is now at peace. I (Clare) have such pleasant memories of so many years ago when we attended elementary school. I believe that we covered a lot of territory around Baden (many at the train station) on our bicycles every noon hour. And then too, we spent many hours together (usually with Laverne too) at The Schwartzentruber home in Baden and at our home south of Baden. I will always remember these special times. Love to each one of you.

Condolence from Ray Schlegel sent on January 28, 2019

Since learning about Gerald’s passing my heart and mind have been filled with precious memories of the years when it was my good fortune to share with Gerald in the leadership of Nithview Home. Gerarld’s chaplaincy ministry was effective in positive relationships amongst residents residents, staff and management. As a member of the Management Team he ensured that administrative priority would always adhere to the principle to “keep the important thing the important thing the IMPORTANT THING” .

Marianne and I extend our sympathy and best wishes,
Ray Schlegel
