PTOLEMY, MARJORIE MAY(CLEMENS)
Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, August 12, 2019 at the Ritz Lutheran Villa, Mitchell,
Ontario. Marjorie was born 79 years ago in Milverton, Ontario and was the daughter of the late Ross Clemens and the
former Mabel Whaley.
Marjorie is reunited with her husband William Ptolemy. Cherished mother of Julie Ptolemy and Jennifer Ptolemy(Scott
French) and cherished grandmother of Tyler Vollett(Madison) and Alexander and Phaedra Ptolemy-French. Marjorie is
survived by her sister-in-law Jo and her husband Harve Waring, nieces and nephews John (Angelo), Keeley (Joe), Melanie
(Bill), Joanne, Donald and John (Prescila), great nieces and nephews Meghan, Alex, Kate, and Rhianna. Predeceased by
her aunt Ella Clemens, brother Jack Clemens, sister in-law Betty and husband George Crowell, niece Janet and nephew
Colin.
Marjorie was a member of St Pauls United Church and a longtime member of the UCW. In her younger years Marjorie
worked as a switchboard operator at the Milverton telephone office and then as a Dietary Aid at Knollcrest Lodge,
Milverton. Marjorie had many passions throughout her life that included cycling, curling, gardening, reading, knitting,
crocheting and was always up to a spirited game of Dukies (Crokinole). Marjorie and family spent many summers on
the shores of Lake Huron and enjoyed time at the hunt camp on Oxtongue lake. Marjorie loved spending her time with
her family and shared a special bond with her grandchildren. Marjorie enjoyed many day trips with her friends whether
it was shopping, sightseeing or dining out.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will take place at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street,
Milverton, on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 1 – 3 & 5– 7 p.m. A Celebration of Marjorie’s life will take place in the
chapel of the funeral home on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Marjorie will be laid to rest with her husband
William in the Greenwood Cemetery, Milverton.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Pauls United Church, Milverton or Parkinson Canada would be appreciated.
