Dear Jan;
I would like to offer my deepest sympathy and condolences for your loss.

I knew that Ric had been sick for some time but it is still a shock when a friend passes away. I had a lot of respect for Ric. He was a gentleman and a good neighbour and I am proud to have know him. He will be missed.

I can only imagine the feeling of loneliness you must be experiencing, but we do have to go on with our life. I found that time does eventually ease the pain of the loss, although it is neither quick, easy, or complete. The fond memories of happier times will help sustain you through this period of mourning.

In closing I would like to tell you, that my heart goes out to you in this terrible time in your life, and I will be thinking of you in the days ahead as you struggle with this terrible loss.
