KOENIG, SHIRLEY ALICE (NAUMANN) of Baden.
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at her residence Nithview Community, New Hamburg. Shirley was born 88 years ago, a daughter of the late Wilfred C and Florence (Hammer) Naumann.
Beloved wife of Elmer C. Koenig whom she married on October 7, 1955. Loving mother of Stephen & Joanne Koenig, Mark & Kim Koenig, Paul & Sharon Koenig, Mary & Bill Elias. Cherished grandma of Kelly, Kyle and Karissa, Nicole and Jacob Wisted, Adam, Briana and John Reiner, Nathan, Gavin,Olivia and great-grandma of Jameson. Shirley is survived by her brother Gregory and Arlene Naumann, her sisters Delores Hauck and Joann Wood, sister-in-law Glennis Koenig as well as by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her 2 grandchildren Logan and Avraell and her brothers and sisters-in-law; Wilbert Hauck, Vernon and Hannah Koenig, Reta and Harold Glasser and Maurice Koenig.
Shirley was born and raised in Baden. She was a life-time member of St. James Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member and part of the Ladies Auxiliary. In her youth Shirley was gifted in playing tennis, figure skating and loved to dance. She was a very positive person who always brought a smile to others. Shirley had a fond love for her family and enjoyed every minute spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Shirley was always fashion conscious and with that she loved to wear a large selection of hats to church. Please feel free to join in her tradition and wear a hat to the ceremony.
Visitation will take place on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 11-1:00 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, Baden. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bonnie Schelter-Brown officiating. Interment to take place at Fairmont Cemetery, Baden. As expressions of sympathy donations to St. James Lutheran Church, Baden or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated (Cheques Accepted).
