Gropp, Florence Catherine
Passed away peacefully at Country Meadows Retirement Home on Monday, January 15, 2018. Florence was born in Ellice Township, 96 years ago, a daughter of the late Martin John Mogk and former Clara Isabella Gernhaelder. Beloved wife of the late Earl Gropp (1979). Loving mother and mother-in-law of Catherine and Ray Scott of Milverton, Elizabeth White (Robert predeceased 2006) of Langley, BC, Brian and Barb Gropp, Murray Gropp, all of Stratford, Mark and Bonnie Gropp of Brussels, Judy Hamilton of Milverton, Tim and Darlene Gropp of Stratford. Remembered by 23 grandchildren (2 predeceased), 39 great-grandchildren (1 predeceased) and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Dear sister and sister-in-law of Isabel and Cam Graul of Stratford, Dorothy Heipel of Waterloo, Jackie and Andy Gray of Milverton, Dorothy Mogk of Guelph and Ada Gropp of Milverton. She was predeceased by brothers Clarence & Dorothy Mogk, Paul and Laurene Mogk, Harvey and Mae Mogk, Earl Mogk, and William Mogk in infancy, sisters Georgine and Allen McLeod, Viola and Clayton Luckhardt, brother-in-law Raymond Heipel, and Carl Gropp.
Florence was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where she was part of the sewing circle, choir and LCW. She enjoyed quilting, baking, canning, gardening and showing items at many Agricultural Fairs. She was a life member of the Gravelridge Women’s Institute. She was a feisty spirit who enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton on Wednesday from 1-5 & 6-9 p.m.. The funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 11 a.m.. Pastor Barry Boeckner officiating. Spring interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
