Hilda and extended family,
I’m so sorry for your loss. May memories of special times in the past soften the pain of grief now. One of my memories is listening to Elroy lead the song, “Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken”. I enjoyed singing along when he led hymns long ago.

Today we think back over the years of the wonderful times we spent together with you, Elroy and Hilda. Hilda, we have been so blessed to have such special friends as you. We remember so many good times together — laughing, crying, sharing in “deep theological discussions”, and eating good food together. I remember you holding our babies when I was playing piano at church, church family camping and Sunday pot lucks. We remember getting together to watch the Super Bowl and for brunch on New Year’s Day. We have had such wonderful times together, enjoying lots of fun, but also sharing in the goodness and faithfulness of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our thoughts and prayers and love are with you, Hilda, Renae, Eugene, Anne, Duane, Jon and your families as you say “good bye for now” to your husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather. I am so thankful for the hope we have in our Lord Jesus Christ. May God bless you, comfort you, and keep you close in His tender, loving care as you walk through this time together. You have no idea how much we wish we could be there with you. Elroy, we will miss you. Lots of love to all of you.
