Condolence from Jim O’Brien sent on October 21, 2018

Hi Dennis,
Joan shared the sad news of your mom’s passing. I have many fond memories of Jean.
Jean always made people feel welcomed and special. Her smile was her hello. She would bring calmness and humanity to the most serious of discussions. She was both a peace maker and a peaceful person. On most visits to the farm she always had some fresh bake goodies to bond our table conversations. On a number of occasions, and much to my surprise, she would pull up a chair and take wee sampling of the scotch that Jack and I were tasting. Jean was always hungry for updates on how the kids(Kathleen and Matthew) were doing. People were her interest and vocation.
Kahlil Gibran’s (Lebanese poet and required reading prior to marring into a Lebanese family) words express :”Love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation”
Jean lives in the hearts she leaves behind…
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Jim
