My deepest sympathy goes to the family of Gladys. I had the honour and pleasure of caring for Gladys. Gladys didn’t like that I was not working during the days and evenings, so I would decorate her door so then she would know that I was still working at Nithview but nights. She enjoyed seeing how I would decorate her door every time. She loved whatever I did. I enjoyed listening and talking to her, she will be missed very much.

What can I say?? Gladys was one of a kind!, she took Doug and I under her wing when we joined Nith Valley Mennonite Church. Doug was very fond of her and most of u will remember his pet name for her! She encouraged me to quilt, become a volunteer, helped me over a period of depression and encouraged me to be a worship leader. She was my daughter,s mentor when she joined the church.n nShe was there!! We will all miss her so much, with sincere sympathy to u all, Judie Bowlby.

My deepest condolences for the family of Gladys Cressman. Gladys was just one of those people who lights up a room. She was always up for a conversation. I met Gladys when I was doing a placement at Nithview for my PSW course which led to my job. During my schooling Gladys was always very encouraging and kind but honest with constructive communications regarding the preferences of her own personal care. Once employed I often found myself working evenings and always looked forward to ending my night with a laugh and hugs from Gladys. Tucking her into bed underneath her beautiful log cabin quilt that she was very proud of.
Such a wonderful person will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to get to know her.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Cressman family. I had the pleasure and honour to care for Gladys since she came to assisted living at Nithview. Her and I became instant friends. She has blessed my life in so many ways. Due to illness I haven’t been at work since early October but I had many messages of thinking of you and that she prayed for me everyday. I will whole heartedly miss her. I always told her the best part of working 3-11pm was being able to tuck her in at night with a big hug & kiss. I loved her deeply and will be forever grateful that our paths crossed.

My sympathy to the entire family. I enjoyed the wonderful opportunity to be a volunteer driver for the school “grandpals” program at Nithview. It was wonderful to sit at the table with Gladys and the 2 girls (including my grand daughter), and heard the girls asking Gladys questions and hearing her stories. They shared stories what each did in schools and hobbies, events at Christmas etc. Gladys enjoyed watching the girls do the crafts and she told them she hung their art work in her room. She will be truly missed. Gods Blessings to you all.

My admiration for Gladys began when I got to know her at the Wilmot rec centre pool. She was an inspiration to me because she came (more often than I did) for water therapy even though she never learned to swim, and admitted that she didn’t even particularly like the water. We both enjoyed chatting together before I left her to do my own swim therapy in the deep end. She told me a lot about her life, and I recognized her overall passion, and determination and admired her many skills and gifts. I will miss my friend Gladys. My thoughts and prayers will be with the whole family.
