Passed away peacefully surrounded by the loving support of his family on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener at the age of 70. Reunited with his beloved wife Yvonne Anthony (Holst) who predeceased him in 2010.
Loving father of Renee and husband Michael Goodman, Pamela Anthony and Ryan and wife Karla Anthony. Proud grandpa of Emily, Christopher, Andrew, Matthew, Meagan, Danielle and Sofia. Ivan is survived by his sisters Deb Ramsey of PEI, Muriel (Raymond) Whynot and sisters-in-law Mary Anthony and Mary Anthony all of Nova Scotia. Also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Richard (Brenda) Holst, Donell (Judy) Holst, Dennis (Linda) Holst, Brian Holst (Iris McNab), Glenn (Debbie) Holst, Rosemary (David Wenger), Michael (Margaret) Holst as well as by his mother-in-law Mae Holst.
Predeceased by his parents Jordan and Emily Anthony, and brothers Nelson and Dennis Anthony as well as by his father-in-law Clarence Holst.
Ivan had a very special spot in his life for his grandchildren and was a very proud grandfather to all of them. He enjoyed fishing and bowling and was an avid sports fan cheering for the New York Yankees and the Montreal Canadiens.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Ivan’s life will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in St. Agatha Mennonite Church Cemetery.
